Our Book

MassQuilts has published a 320-page hardbound book, titled "Massachusetts Quilts, Our Common Wealth"  with the University Press of New England.  The book features 112 of the most beautiful and historically significant quilts, with images including overall views, detail shots, and photographs of the makers, for a total of 215 color photographs.  The book is now out of print but may be available on Amazon.

Authors for the book include editor Lynne Z. Bassett, costume and textile historian and associate fellow of the International Quilt Study Center of Lincoln, Nebraska; Paula Richter, curator of textiles and costumes at the Peabody Essex Museum; Aimee Newell, curator of collections at the National Heritage Museum; Marjorie Childers, professor of sociology at Elms College, quilt scholar and certified quilt appraiser; Pamela A Parmal, chief curator of textiles at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Lauren Whitley, assistant curator of textiles at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Vivien Lee Sayre, project founder, quilt scholar and certified quilt appraiser, Dawn Adiletta, curator of the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center, Hartford, CT, Anita Loscalzo, former curator of the New England Quilt Museum and Helen Ewer, quilt scholar.
